Scholarship Thank you letter

  

You are required to write a formal typed full-page letter of gratitude for your Kean Universtiy Foundation Scholarship. 

This letter should be a full page in length, and single-spaced in the format of a standard business letter. You do not need to know the contact information for your donor, as that aspect will be handled by Scholarship Services. Please see the sample letter and suggested guideline.

Letter Guidelines

First paragraph: State the purpose of your letter.

Second paragraph: Share a little about yourself and indicate why the scholarship is important.

Third paragraph: Close by thanking the person again and make a commitment to do well with the “donor’s investment.”

I am writing to thank you for your generous $2,000.00 Steven J. Weiss Endowed Memorial Scholarship Scholarship. I was very happy and appreciative to learn that I was selected as the recipient of your scholarship.

I am a Biology major with an emphasis in physiology and anatomy. I plan to pursue a career in pharmacy upon graduating from Kean University of New Jersey. I am currently a junior carrying 17 units, and plan to graduate in the fall of 2007. After graduation, I plan to attend XYZ Pharmacy School to earn my pharmaceutical degree. Thanks to your generous scholarship, I am now one step closer to achieving my goal.

By awarding me the Steven J. Weiss Endowed Memorial Scholarship Scholarship, you have lightened my financial burden which allows me to focus more on the most important aspect of school, learning. I hope one day that I will also be able to help struggling students reach their goals in Higher Education by assisting them in the same way you have helped me. Thank you.
