Race and Women’s RightsThis is structured as a discussion, so you will make your original post, and then respond to one other student. You will not be able to see the discussion stream until the original post is made.Your original post will address the following question:What arguments are raised regarding race and women’s rights?  What is the significance of these arguments?  What factors influenced the arguments presented? Format of the Assignment.The original post should be 23-25 sentences total. Examples must be drawn from at least five of the documents found under the Documents for Worksheet 1 assignment, lectures (more than one), and the McMillen book.Watch grammar and spelling.Do not use quotes of more than two lines.Do not use more than one quote per paragraph.Your original post should also include a salutation or greeting that indicates to whom you are addressing (Dear Dr. Beachley and classmates,).  The text of your post should appear in paragraph form after the salutation. It would look something like this:Dear Dr. Beachley and classmates,  There were many individuals who wrote about race and women’s rights…..Make sure that you follow the citation guidelines found below: When you are writing any worksheet analysis and using specific examples from the sources you must introduce the source you are using, provide the paraphrased or quoted material, and then provide the page number from where that material is drawn at the end of the sentence in which it appears.For information from the Sally McMillen book, you would cite the page reference at the end of the sentence in which it appears.  It would look something like this:  According to Sally McMillen, participation in the abolitionist movement…  (p. 42). For documents used, you would cite the paragraph reference at the at the end of the sentence in which it appears.  It would look something like this:  For instance, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, concerned with achieving the vote for women, used the Declaration of Independence as the basis of the Declaration of Sentiments, presented at the Seneca Falls Convention (par. 2). For lecture material used, you would cite the paragraph references at the end of the sentence in which it appears.  It would look something like this:  In the lecture, “Female Moral Reform,”  Dr. Beachley mentioned…..  (par. 3).Note that information drawn from the book, uses page references, while examples from lectures and documents uses paragraph references. Constructing your examples this way ensures that the reader knows that it is a specific example and knows exactly from where that material is drawn.  Response:After you make your original post, you will then respond to one other student’s post (preferably one that has not had a number of responses). The response post must be 8-10 sentences long.The response must also include a salutation or greeting that indicates to whom you are addressing (Dear Debra or Dear Jim).Watch grammar and spelling.The response must respond to the substance of what another student has said and not the grammar or structure. Do not include sentences like Great post Ashley, I really like what you said. Points will be deducted for not following all of the instructions for the assignment and response.
