a content perspective. This means it also needs to do more than agree with or

Qualitative research is evidence-based practice that uses a systematic approach to describe experiences and situations from the perspective of the person in the situation. The researcher analyzes the words of the participant, finds meaning in the words, and provides a description of the experience that promotes deeper understanding of the experience (Grove, 2015).The Ethnographic Research and the Grounded Theory are similar however they have some primary differences.  The board scope of the Ethnographic Research and Grounded Theory is to understand events, behaviors and cultural meanings and interpret the experiences.  The researchers study the patterns of cultural belief, values and attitudes in selected population.Grounded theory goals is to generate theory which can explain the psychological phenomenon and to help understand how social interaction is used by human being to define reality.  It helps the researcher in understanding participants’ behavior regardless of cultural background.Ethnographer research on the other hand goal is to provide a description of the cultural phenomenon in the study.  The ethnographer research can help to understand a particular phenomenon and describe alternative reality that is projected by the participant of a particular culture, secondly ethnographer research is conducted to study cultures and their behaviors based on their culture.  The ethnographer research is also able to build a substantive grounded theory by describing an interpreting their observation related to a particular culture (Datt, 2014).Ethnography research is different from grounded theory in that ethnography is entailed to understand the participant behavior with respect to a specific cultures whereas, grounded research is based and interweave it with the context of participants behavior of that particular phenomenon. There is also differences in the way that the two methods review literature before the research, whether before or after data collection.  Grounded theory researchers do not consult with literature before they do the field work in order to avoid getting influenced from the literature.  Ethnographers on the other hand can consult literature before the field work in order to get an idea about how to proceed in which the problem to be studied is presented.Sampling collection is also different between the two methods, grounded research sampling technique is used to help in theory building by collecting, coding and analyzing data to facilitate emergence of theory.  Because ethnographer research is not concerned with generating theory, they give more concerns to a particular aspect of culture and apply purpose sampling.Lastly, the two methods differ in how they present the results of their findings, grounded research focus their final report on the discussion of conceptual analysis and substantive theory build from data collection.  In contrast ethnographers uses descriptive approaches, i.e narratives to describe participants and their actions (Datt, 2014).      The similarities between the two methods; the researcher studies the phenomenon in its natural context and uses a holistic approach to study the phenomenon, they both use more than one data collected approach to help the researcher in providing multiple interpretations and to enhance the accuracy and credibility of the research study, and they both presents the reports from the perspective of participant who have experienced the phenomenon in the natural setting. (Datt, 2014)).
