To begin this Assignment, select a preschool setting within which you may have access to a child or group of children for assessment purposes. Be sure not to use any names of children as you complete this Assessment. You may use your class, the class of a colleague, or another preschool environment (child care program, church program, etc.). If you select a setting that is not your own classroom, speak with the teacher and director ahead of time to make plans for your visits to this setting. Identify the child or group of children to whom you will administer two assessments: a language or literacy assessment and a math assessment. Gain as much information as possible about the child/children you will assess in terms of their current progress in these curricular areas.
This assignment has three-parts.
Part I: Selecting and Administering Assessments
Part II: Data Analysis to Inform Instruction
Part III: Communicating Assessment Results
