Reply to this classmate and comment about what they have written. (At least 150 words)The Patriot Act I believe that the Patriot Act is completely necessary in order to protect this country. America experienced the devastating attack on September 11, 2001. The government should do everything in its power to unsure something of this magnitude never happens again. If it takes violating the First and Fourth Amendments to keep this country safe I’m all for it. I feel as though giving up a few civil liberties to make sure that terrorist are properly investigated should not bother the people it is saving lives. The Patriot Act is one of the most effective ways to combat the threat to national security. The Patriot Act simply gives the government more tools to effectively investigate terrorist The Patriot Act does invade the privacy of the American people but it is for a just cause. But as I stated in the previous paragraph it is totally necessary. The people who do not agree with the Patriot Act are not taking the threat to our nations security seriously. It may be wrong to investigate people with little to no evidence of wrong doing, but this is what must be done to protect this great country.
