Poster Presentation of Curriculum & Paper
PURPOSE
The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate the student’s ability to build upon prior course assignments to present an overall curriculum plan for a designated program of studies.
REQUIREMENTS
Assignment Criteria for the Poster:
1.            The poster is to contain the following information:
a.            The name of the nursing program
b.            The mission statement
c.             The philosophy
d.            The organizing framework
e.            The program outcomes
f.             The critical learning experiences that all students must achieve before graduating from your program or completing the program.
g.            A list of all courses in the program,including the credits for each course with breakdown of theory and clinical hours if applicable, and the total number of credits for the program. Remember the total baccalaureate program credits are to equal between 120 and 140 semester hours. Associate-degree program credits should equal 60-66 semester hours.
h.            The method of delivery for your program (full-time, part-time, weekdays, nights, weekends, campus based, distance education, mixed method.
i.              Grammar, spelling, punctuation, references, and citations are consistent with formal academic writing and APA format as expressed in the 6th edition.
2.            Use the format provided in Course Resources for development of the poster.
Assignment Criteria for the Paper:
1.            The paper is to be a supplement to the poster.  Information that has already been presented on the poster does not need to be repeated in the paper. Include in the paper the following elements:
a.            Brief introduction discussing any relevant information on your institution. 
b.            Identify the appropriate accrediting body for your program
c.             Description of the nursing courses in your program.  Include the credits for each course with breakdown of theory and clinical hours if applicable, and the total number of credits for the program
d.            Changes to the curriculum plan after peer collaboration from the discussion threads are identified.
e.            Include a minimum of three-to-four scholarly resources published within the past 5 years, not including your textbook.  References may include scholarly websites of organizations or government agencies and must be presented using APA format for electronic media.
f.             Grammar, spelling, punctuation, references, and citations are consistent with formal academic writing and APA format as expressed in the 6th edition.
