Introduction
When it emanates to matters of health, everyone turns out to be attentive. Many people
have in mind that in the state of good health, one can indirectly achieve whatever their desires
are. This is the explanation why people give health much-needed attention. It is very significant
to have a clear meaning of the word, “health,” health care and the systems that are developed to
enhance healthcare (Shi & Singh, 2010).
Health is defined as the overall state of the body and mind, particularly in the lack and
existence of impairments or sicknesses. It is also the general condition of anything when it comes
to vitality, soundness and proper functioning. From these definitions, one can be in good or in
bad health.
Healthcare, on the other hand, is the activities geared towards maintaining good health.
This is normally through the facilitation of medical services with the aim of enhancing good
health. It not necessarily provided when one becomes of ill health but it is progressive and is
always provided as a precautionary measure. The healthcare systems are the institutions,
organization of people and gathering of resources to provide health care services so as to satisfy
the well-being requirements of the target residents. Therefore these systems are developed to
satisfy the well-being requirements of a given population (Griffin, Nembhard, DeFlitch, Bastian,
Kang & Muñoz, 2016). There are many healthcare systems of health globally, and in this case,
we shall focus on the United States Healthcare system.

Significance of Healthcare Systems
Health care systems are developed so that they meet the health requirements of people in
a particular geographical area and to fully satisfy them. They are mandated to offer health care
services to the intended population and making sure that finances are distributed equitably. Set
up of health care systems change from country to country but they all have same goals. These
systems play a significant role and have to be supported so that the desired standards in health
care service delivery are achieved (Niles, 2015). They include proper plans and designs intricate
with the involvement of trade unions, charities, government, employers and religious groups
coordinated to offer envisioned healthcare services to the targeted population.
Many factors determine the effectiveness of a health care system. These factors are and
are not restricted to quality, cost, cultures, ease of access and workforce. They affect the
participants in the healthcare system. The stakeholders in health care differ from government to
private sector. The government is mostly involved in making sure delivery of services to citizens
and contributes to policy making levels. The stakeholder in the provision of health includes
device manufacturers, medical practitioners, insurance companies and pharmaceuticals.

US Healthcare system
Have you had an instance when you had to visit a doctor due to an illness? If true, then
you have encountered the healthcare system. This paper shall discuss the effectiveness of the US
Healthcare system, but first, the problems that are with US healthcare shall be examined. For
many years now, the healthcare emergency has been pushed to the back burner, and the inflation
of health insurance premiums had increased in the year 2008. As per the 2009 survey on the
benefits of employees, the contribution of employers to health insurance premiums had
skyrocketed by 131% since the year 1999, and the employee contribution had risen by 128%.
With such data, it is easy to the reason many businesses, those that employ less than 200 people,
opted to recall their group health care plans (Jonas, Goldsteen & Goldsteen, 2007).
Of the many businesses that offer health care plans, a typical of 65% of their employees
opt to take part in them. The main explanation for opting out of employer given health care is
because of the unusually high increase rate of dividends. The unemployed people own their
businesses and are not given any health care plans via the employer are left with the choice of
purchasing private insurance.
Today, the condition of disease and prevention is combated unequally. The prevention of
illness is perceived often as a public health issue, and the status of illness are a medical problem.
Though I agree, the US healthcare system is unethical and unfair because the resources are spent
on somewhat few desperately sick patients, and at the same time, millions of US citizens do not
have basic access to healthcare services. Most people dread political intermediation in light of
earlier letdowns. The US medical system is called upon to deal with the effects of these
disappointments in public health.

The disparities of the cost of health are to some extent because of the prioritization of
values, ethics, family, and morality. Aristotle acknowledged that ethics and politics are firmly
connected, and an individual’s view on any of the above ideas can adversely affect the other. For
instance, an athlete earns millions of dollars for throwing a ball, a film actor or a musician gets
millions of dollars just for entertaining the public, but there is a scientist who has dedicated their
life entirely in curing a certain disease earns hardly a fraction of the either above mentioned
professions. Many people, therefore, devote themselves in trying to support health and medical
progress.
Unluckily, for many Americans, health care to them is a luxury and not a requirement,
and many of them have gone without it. For the record, the US Census Bureau approximated that
over 45 million Americans reasonably about 20% of the country’s population of 65 years and
below were with no health insurances in 2008 (Afifi, Rice, Andersen, Rosenstock & Kominski,
2013). Additionally, many of the employed Americans are not insured, about 8/10 uninsured
Americans come from the same working family. This sum was anticipated to upsurge by almost
seven million by the year 2010.
The US health care system needs to subject itself in disease prevention as earlier stated,
this, in turn, lowers the cost of healthcare for every citizen. Public health has done a tremendous
job in decreasing the number of communicable diseases with a little thought crusade
commendably attaining the target audience. For instance, an HINI public health campaign in
New Jersey expeditiously immunized the public leaving only a few ill. This is the success that
fosters the population to become slightly self-righteous to the disease mostly the

immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and many people have become poised owing that there are pills
to curb the disease.
Benefits of the US Healthcare Systems
In today’s interpretation, I would like to share a piece of history to emphasize a point; the
US Healthcare is the greatest in the world one has ever seen. For example, the typical life
expectancy at birth rose from 49 years to 79 years from the year 1900 to 2010 under Obama’s
presidency. As from 1960, the age-adjusted death from heart disease has decreased by 56%, and
from 1950, the age-adjusted death from stroke has been lowered by a margin of 70% (Aday,
2004).
The United States has the best of medical inquiry webs globally. Medical researchers
from institutions such as the Cleveland Clinic, Harvard Medical School, and the Mayo Clinic are
recognized widely for producing medicine due to the existing free market system. Another
benefit of the US Healthcare system is that its citizens do not have to go through the costs joined
with delivering medical health insurance to each person. The health care spending in this country
is higher than anywhere in the world and a system in which every American will be insured to
primarily serve to raise these expenses at the cost of taxpayers.

Many people assert that the tax money would take the funding away from political vindication
and education to finance a new health care system.
Nowadays, Medicaid is a required essential of the American protection net. In 2004, it
was bound with a binding adjacent to as many populations as its executive advocate, Medicare,
37 million versus 39 million (Goldsteen, Goldsteen, Goldsteen & Jonas, 2017).
Medicaid has developed quickly in the past years since it has been cutting upper slack

Conclusion
The United States needs to take care of its citizens, and the best way is providing them
with affordable healthcare. If American can finance huge wars overseas for quite some years, it
can for sure provide its homeland citizens with the best healthcare. It has to recognize that its
actions speak louder than its words. With the new health bill that was introduced by President

Obama, it will gain its full significance if at all the American citizens understands it and takes
benefits that come with it. In as much the government is good at educating its people about how
good the health bill is, it will not be much unless it implements policies responsibly and
effectively.
Motivating every American to seek such healthcare resources concerning oneself and
other assists in accomplishing the best likely level of well-being of everyone in the community
and finally, it stimulates therapeutic relations which are the base of therapeutic care management
and gives the society trust and cooperation.
