Business Strategy
Gravity Solutions is a company that will offer technological solutions to the people that
run businesses especially where the organization is considered large. It is important that people
recognize the need of improved technology in enhancing the competitiveness of the business as it
ensures that there is increased efficiency. The company vision will be to become the best
provider of technological solutions in the world and the mission to ensure that the businesses
achieve the objectives that matter to them. The company will ensure that their mission is
achieved through the helping of the businesses to achieve their objectives. It is important that
Gravity solutions recognize the importance of forming strategies that ensure that the business
remains successful. To achieve these, the company will ensure that they have proper structures
and identify the roles and responsibilities of the management that will assist in forming the basis
of the performance of the organization.
Strategic Thinking
According to Nobuo (2016), strategic thinking in the company is where the company
makes decisions that they intend to take to make sure that the business is successful. The
planning of the organization regarding strategies is done yearly where the decisions of making
the company more competitive are made. In Gravity Solutions, the process of strategic thinking
involves coming up with innovative solutions to solve the technological issues that face
businesses today. The experiences that have taken place in the past do not define the role that
innovation plays in developing the strategies for the future.
The innovative solutions are created through ensuring that research and development are
continuous that helps the company to come up with solutions that meet the current demand of the
businesses. Creativity in the company is achieved through examining the voices of the clients,

the industry and the employees it then lays the strategies where they make sure that the needs are
satisfied. The company has made it its responsibility to continue making sure that they improve
their process of innovation. It helps in the creation of products using a framework that is of value
to the company. It gives the proactive functioning of the organization that helps in defining the
domain of the organization and in giving them the strategic advantage.
Organizational Structure
The structure of Gravity Solutions is the functional structure where the structure is based
on the functions of the organization that include research and development, finance and the
marketing departments. The research and development unit makes sure that they get the solutions
to the problems that people continue to face in the organization (Goreva et al., 2016). As such,
new innovative measures have developed that help the company to remain competitive. The
company in total has over twenty staff members that ensures that the mandate of the organization
is achieved through the input that they give. The structure is critical in ensuring that the company
focuses on the different projects that they have been laid out so that people are aware of what to
expect at a given time. The strategy is to ensure that the managers are in a position to oversee the
different projects and give the tasks to the employees that help in the different implementation
process.
The form of management that the company uses is the popular one where the
management recognizes the importance of having employees in the decision-making process. It
ensures that the decisions made have to be vetted by them for the implementation process to be a
success. The employees that are involved in research and development are considered to be the
essential part of the business as they assist in finding out the needs of the clients that helps lay
down strategies towards the same. The style of management ensures that there are solutions to

those complex situations that are present in the organization (Jung & Kim, 2014). The method
helps in improving work quality and satisfaction towards the certain conditions. Employees are
also motivated to bring in new ideas that ensure that the company achieves its objectives.
Role of Structure, Management, and Leadership
The organization structure is critical in ensuring that the organization functions well. It
provides that proper decisions are made and that there is flexibility in how the organization
carries out its operations. It helps in defining the roles of the employees and the responsibilities
that they are supposed to conduct. It also improves the communication process of the company
where there is authority distribution to the different employees, and this makes sure that they are
aware of the responsibilities that they should undertake at a given time (Kareem, 2016). The
departmental leaders are also in a position to communicate how their departments are
performing. The structure of the organization also helps in evaluating the performance of the
employees as the skills of the employees are well known, and they ensure that the workers are in
good terms with the others.
The management will play an important role where it will make sure that they pay
attention to the contribution of every employee. They are aware that the input of the employees
is considered in making meaningful decisions regarding the projects that the company is
undertaking. It is the management style that the organization achieves its goals as there is a
command in place that holds people responsible for their actions. It is also possible to come up
with solutions for the problems that exist and ensure that there are policies and regulations in
place (Kareem, 2016). The kind of leadership that the organization will employ will help in
making the employees comfortable in the organization and the creation of a culture where they
can answer the different questions that are presented. They ensure that the employees remain

motivated to carrying out their tasks and ensuring that they are satisfied with the various policies
that the company has put in place. It also ensures that their remuneration is satisfactory.

Structure, Management, and Leadership at In-Touch Interiors
In-Touch Interiors is a company that will endeavor to offer the best quality in interior
design and decoration services. While there are online businesses that provide people with
this service, the one-one one contact as well as personalized designs and decorations are
lacking. This business seeks to provide a traditional approach to design and decorating,
aligning the client’s needs with the keen eye of design evident in its employees. The
company’s vision is to ensure that the world is transformed a single room at a time. The
company will strive to deliver designs that reflect their clients’ tastes and lifestyle choices.
Furthermore, it seeks to specialize in the art of beautiful decorating. To ensure that all its
activities are aligned with its vision and mission, the company will establish an organizational
structure that is effective as well as sufficient approaches to management and leadership.
Following its establishment, In-Touch Interiors will still be a relatively small
company. On this note, it is important the organizational structure reflects this feature. There
are numerous organizational structures that present immense advantages to businesses. For
instance, the functional structure has been shown to be effective due to a number of reasons.
To begin with, this structure increases efficiency and productivity as it allows employees with
specialized skills to work in jobs that require their special skills (Joseph, 2016). This makes it
possible to complete tasks with a high level of precision and speed. Additionally, the
company also benefits from the expertise of the employees.
Despite this, it is less likely that In-Tech will have a large employee population during
its first few days of operation. Each department might only consist of a single person,
resulting in a total employee number that is less than 15. At the same time, it might become
necessary for some employees’ jobs and responsibilities to extend outside their qualifications
and departments. Based on this, it becomes important to adopt a flat approach to business
structure. Research has shown that a lack of hierarchy is effective in small business startups

(ConnectUSfund, 2015). This is because it tends to be highly cost-effective, a factor that will
benefit the business, especially during its early stages.
Additionally, the flat business structure will also ensure that decisions are made in a
prompt manner. In the absence of hierarchies and bureaucracies, only a small number of
individuals have to be consulted before key business decisions are made. In this regard, there
is usually a direct communication and access to information, which simplified decisionmaking processes (ConnectUSfund, 2015). Moreover, communication is significantly
simplified and the supervision of employees is largely unnecessary. The company’s leaders
also understand the drawbacks of such a structure, such as confusion in roles and power
struggles. However they will work to ensure that they are prevented and mitigated if they do
occur.
Besides applying a flat business structure, an objectives model of management will
also be applied to the business to increase efficiency and performance. The management by
objectives commonly referred to as the MBO, will provide a guideline to management and
leadership practices at In-Touch Interiors. This management model calls upon all employees
of the company to take part in identifying the main objectives of the company. These
objectives should reflect the mission and vision of the company and ways of achieving
identified milestones. Following the identification of objectives, the workers also determine
the roles and responsibilities required to achieve these goals (Rodgers & Hunter, 1991).
When MBO is applied at In-Touch Interiors, it is bound to benefit the company in a
myriad of ways. For instance, the goals of the company will be clearly understood by all
employees. Since they have all taken part in identifying them, they will develop a more
comprehensive understanding of the goals and will have no difficulties driving the company
towards the attainment of these objectives. At the same time, BMO provides an opportunity
for management and employees to remain in contact with each other (Rodgers & Hunter,
STRUCTURE, MANAGEMENT, AND LEADERSHIP
6
1991). This will improve communication between the various members of the company.
Furthermore, employees are more likely to commit to the goals as they have set them
themselves. Moreover, this approach will create a high level of motivation in employees as it
will empower them to make key decisions and also identify their own ways of achieving
organizational goals.
More importantly, recent studies have revealed that MBO can be applied in team
resulting in beneficial results (Pedraza, 2015). Through GMO, manager can easily assign the
right individuals to the right groups. At the same time, he can also work with individual
teams to ensure that goals an clarified and well understood by all members of the team. The
approach also enables him to monitor and provide feedback to the teams. This increases job
satisfaction, productivity in groups and the overall performance of the company (Conny,
2005).
The process of involving employees in key company decisions has been shown to be
extremely effective. In this case, a leadership approach that does not offset this relation will
be more effective at In-Tech Interiors. Research shows that participative leadership supports
collective decision-making (Nemaei, 2012). This is because it is a horizontal leadership style
that eliminates the hierarchies and bureaucracies commonly associated with other vertical
forms of leadership.
This analysis has revealed pertinent details on how In-Touch Interiors plans of
achieving its key goals. Using a flat business structure, it strives to involve employees and
eliminate complex hierarchies and bureaucracies that may undermine decision-making and
communication. At the same time, an MBO approach to management upholds the virtue of
involving employees in key business decisions and processes. It also improves efficiency and
performance of teams. A participative leadership style will increase In-Touch’s capacity to
provide employees with more opportunities to become more involved in the organization
