Students will be given a  list of movies they can analyze.  The analysis of the movie should NOT be a summary of the plot. In the analysis, please use the theories, concepts, ideas we discussed in class and apply them to the different scenarios/events in the movie. For example, you could focus on culture or you can examine other topics covered in class (e.g., cross-cultural communication, motivation, negotiation) and interpret the movie segments where (and if) appropriate. You may start the assignment by providing a brief (one paragraph) introduction that summarizes the plot. Next, select four different events, situations, interactions, and symbols from the movie. These events should be related to culture, cultural values, or cross-cultural situations(in essence, a topic we have discussed during class). Very briefly, describe each event(i.e., tell me what happened), then, explain how this incident relates to topics covered in this class. Be specific; for example, if the segment you have selected relates to culture, explain which one of the cultural dimensions applies in that specific situation or explain that particular behavior. At the end of the assignment, you should summarize your findings and provide a few recommendations for foreigners who plan to travel or do business in the culture featured in your film. The movie analysis report should be roughly2-3pages (single-spaced), excluding a cover page, references, and any additional materials.
