Purpose of this assignment
This unit will develop the skills and understanding needed for planning and designing training and
development, through understanding how people learn and the suitability of different training methods
and initiatives.
Task1: LO 1
ATS LLC is a reputed banking training organisation based in Dubai. The organisation has recruited
twenty new trainers in different specialised field as part of their organisational strategic expansion. As
head of the training department, you have been asked to provide a well-developed one day training
session to the newly recruited training managers on different learning styles by making a comparative
study and analysis on different learning styles which will enable the new managers to understand and
perform effectively in their future training sessions where they will be dealing and interacting with
trainees of different learning styles
Tasks:
1.1 Compare and provide a detailed analysis and discussion of the four main learning styles with
a well-developed and justified arguments (P, M1, and D3).

To achieve Pass you must, compare in details the four main learning styles with clear
explanations.

To achieve M1, you will make effective judgements after comparing in details the
four main learning styles and make an effective approach to study and research has
been made and applied.

To achieve D3 you have to develop innovative and justified arguments about the four

main learning styles with detailed critical analysis and recommendations.
1.2 Discuss in detail the role of the learning curve and the importance of transferring learning to
the workplace, with clear and logical reasoning (P, M2, and D1).

To achieve Pass you must, explain the role of learning curve in transferring learning
in workplace.

To achieve M2, you will have used range of sources of information and relevant
theories and techniques have been applied for the role of learning curve in

1.3 “The practical knowledge about the different learning style and theories are very much
critical to any kind of learning event designing because this is more of a psychological job”
(DeCenzo and Robbins 1996). In the light of the above statement, you are required to assess
the contribution of learning styles and theories when planning and designing a learning event
and identify which are the most important or relevant (P, M3, and D2).

in suitable business formats and will use business terminology accurately.

Task 2: LO 2
2.1 Training need is not same for the employees or staffs at different level in an organisation.
The responsibilities of the staffs at different level are not same. They play different role in
achieving an organisation (Garric’, 2002). Keeping in mind the importance of the above
statement, you as an HR expert is asked by your organisational CEO of a medium sized
manufacturing company to identify and compare different training needs for all the
managers and the supports staffs of accounting, marketing, production departments of your
organisation to achieve an increase of 5% turnover growth in the next year. (P, M1, and
D3).

To achieve Pass you must, compare in details the similarities and differences in
identifying the training needs.

To achieve M1, you will make effective judgements after comparing the

provide a training program to its marketing team to increase their performance level.
Explain how you will deliver a systematic training program to the marketing team by using
