Write a 4-5 page review of Michael Cook’s book, Forbidding Wrong in Islam. In your review, do not spend most of the time giving a summary of the book. Do that only as much as you need to situate your own thoughts. Instead, write about how the book sheds light on the study of Islamic ethics. You might consider one or more of the following: How did it relate to other materials in the course we have examined before this topic? Did it support them or challenge them? What new or different perspectives did it offer in the study of Islamic ethics from what you have seen so far? What were the strengths and weaknesses of the book? Which particular section (or sections) of the book did you find especially interesting or useful? Why? Format: Double-spaced, one inch margins on all sides, standard font (Calibri, Arial, Times New Roman, etc.). Make sure to use page numbers. References: There is no need to provide a bibliography, nor footnotes. But when referring to the text for ideas that are not your own, use a parenthetical notation of author’s last name and page number(s) like this: “In itself, however, minding one’s own business is perfectly Islamic (Cook, 94).”
