We support freedom of speech here at the Mizzou WSU, so we only delete
spam, and not other comments, even hateful ones. But I’d like to take a
moment to talk about the double standard of “hate speech”. We at the
Mizzou WSU oppose genuinely hateful speech, although we think people
have the right to express themselves that way. But what the Left defines as
“hate speech” is not the same as genuinely hateful speech. To the left,
saying anything pro-white is ‘hate speech’, even if we’re not denigrating or
insulting any other group. But genuinely hateful speech directed toward
groups the left dislikes, like whites or veterans, is not considered ‘hate
speech’.
For example, look at this left-wing commenter on this page, Michael Hagge.
I don’t know if he’s a student or employee here at Mizzou, but his general
attitude is similar to many on the left: a pro-white facebook page that never

It was absolutely wonderful hearing Ben Shapiro talk on campus on
Saturday. We were also able to talk to quite a few students after the speech
who were interested in joining the Mizzou WSU, and we hope to see many

Unfortunately, some prejudiced individuals have been spreading malicious
rumors about the Mizzou White Student Union and other white student
unions across the country. These bigots have slandered our organization
and others like us as “fraudulent”, suggesting that we are actually
unaffiliated with our universities. The basis for these claims, laughably, are
anonymous and unsourced posts on websites like 4-Chan. We can only
speak for ourselves, but the Mizzou White Student Union is a real group of
about 10-15 core members and 20-25 affiliates who attend the University of
Missouri. We are currently in the process of applying for recognition from
the university and expect to have our first major public appearance after
Thanksgiving break. Have a good night, and thank you so much for all of
the support.

In light of recent controversy over white student unions and Black Lives
Matter protests across the country, it’s worth setting out what we hope to
accomplish with our white student union at Mizzou.
It’s become increasingly clear that campus politics at the University of
Missouri is becoming divided along identity lines. As People of color and

African Americans form organizations to advocate for their well-being and
safety, white students must do so as well.
At the Mizzou White Student Union, we aim to create a safe space for
students of Western ancestry (and allies) to discuss our shared European
heritage and work to promote positive portrayals of Westerners on campus.
We unapologetically provide a safe space for white bodies to discuss
issues facing our shared community and situations we’ve encountered in
our unique lived experiences.
Furthermore, we unequivocally condemn racism and prejudice. The goal of
our union is to celebrate and take pride in the accomplishments of our race,
not to tear down or attack any other group.
The Mizzou White Student Union considers recent Black Lives Matters
protests our allies and we wish to work together to promote a positive,
peaceful, and Western future for the University of Missouri.
