Write a 5-7 page essay (excluding
title page and references) on the following: Pick ONE environmental law
or regulation, explain its history, purpose and goals in detail, and evaluate
its successes and failures since enactment. Use subsequent court and legislative
events, as well as information from the internet and/or printed literature, to
help in your evaluation. Most students pick either the CWA, CAA or the
ESA. There are a whole lot more laws and regulations out there…..pick
something interesting and applicable to your life.
You are required to use specific
facts, cases, and multiple citations (I suggest 5-10 or more) in order to make
a good grade on this assignment. You are required to integrate your
course materials and concepts as well. Show me what you know and what
you have learned! This single question is worth 20% of your grade in this
course….give it the time and attention it deserves.
As always, cite all sources used
both within and at the end of your answer. A fully developed response should go
beyond your textbook and required readings (although may include them), have
multiple citations from valid sources (no wiki-anything; use .gov, .edu. or
.org websites) and should avoid direct quotes from others; rather relying on
your own synthesis.
