Clearly, one of the great trends we’ve seen since ACA went into effect is greater coverage (as many
of the course readings have supported) for Red-state, white working-class people who previously did
not qualify for Medicaid and did not have private or employer-provided insurance. A good deal of
data I’ve shared throughout the course suggest that many of these voters not only voted against
Democrats (and, some would argue, their own economic interests) in November, but were not even
aware that their health insurance coverage is directly tied to a Democratic Administration. In terms
of framing/messaging, do you believe the Democrats and Obama Administration failed in their
approach to these voters, who arguably swayed the election?
