Traditional Muslims outside the US did not participate in the same dating traditions that American’s did
growing up
Most Muslims had arranged marriages and did not have much contact with their marriage partner until a
little before or even the wedding day
For 80% of American Muslims the traditional American dating culture doesn’t appeal to them and makes
it difficult for them to find faith-filled partnership
Sites like muslima.com, Elite Singles: Muslim dating, and singleMuslim.com help American Muslims to find
partners that are in the same dating situation that they are experiencing
Other forms of dating include speed dating events that helped Muslims singles find partners
These were targeted towards Muslims with more traditional values of practicing arranged marriages

USA’s Sakinah Healthy Marriage Initiative, in partnership with the
Muslim Alliance of North America (MANA), key Imams and community
leaders across the country have signed the Healthy Marriage Covenant
that requires premarital counseling, advisement and education prior to the
marriage ceremony.

Most couples do not know that the American legal system has an impact on
their marriage. Like all American couples, the law impacts Muslim couples
living in America too. (financial, incarceration, tax issues, etc.)

that act as dating sites but the ultimate goal is to find someone to marry.
